Which pickup for DiMarzio DP159 replacement

Hi
Which BK pickup in your opinion is very similar in sound to the DiMarzio DP159/158 Evo but less muddy and cleaner.
Thanks

I think the evo sounds alot like a A5 warpig.

I guess you mean which BKP has a similar frequency curve because if a pickup is less muddy and cleaner it has to sound different by definition.

Going by the tone chart and specs the Aftermath bridge appears to be closest to the Evolution bridge. The Painkiller neck appears to be closest to the Evolution neck. Haven't played either of them though. From what I regularly read on the AM and PK both would be a lot clearer and more defined than the Evos. I have played Ibanez guitars with the Evolution pickups - even only in a music store - and they all sounded utterly muddy and fizzy to me.

Hey weren't we disussing this already? LOL. Three choices for this: Aftermath/PK, C-Bomb/PK, or PK/PK. I personally would go with the C-Bomb because it is a little darker and warmer than the PK Bridge or Aftermath Bridge. But PK neck for sure.

I think Nolly was sporting an Aftermath/PK set in his Daemoness 7, and is selling them so he could probably comment on that combo better than any of us.
