It is odd that, given that many of us profess to be atheists, that we keep writing RIP when somebody dies.  Remember: nam post mortem nihil est, ipsaque mors nihil.

Fair shout.

Its kinda like 'soul' though; its a handy term even if you dont give it any literal meaning.

And nfes right. Being happy a persons dead under any circumstances is morbid at best and highly ethically questionable, even moreso drawing any comparisons between a shady businessman and hitler. I dont terribly care that hes dead, I didnt know him personally and nothing he did in his life has made any meaningfull contact with mine, but making light of it or acting like its a good thing he died on grounds of 'he was dogdy' and comparing shady business practices to a genocidal totalitarian dictator is callous and disgusting.

Also, Godwinned on page, what, 2?

Actually, I think it was page 1.

But this is still nothing, compared to the naught-to-Godwin-ratio of other forums.

Well, I just searched for 'Godwinned' and within a few seconds had learnt something new. God I love this place!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Yeah! some of the WW2 fourms I've been on have been crazy for it...often it's Godwined in the subject line.
It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

He WAS Hitler of the guitar world, as far as i'm concerned.
Surely the key part of this statement is of the guitar world?

Maybe Hitler was the Ed Roman of the head of state world, but surely somewhere between genocide and fraud there comes a line where jubilation in the light of someone's death is unnecessary?
