What Tele set for Jay Clark/Pretty Girls Make Graves Tone?
« on: December 30, 2011, 12:47:32 AM »
Hi Forum, i just got myself a Telecaster 60th Anniversary and while i'm loving the neck tone, the bridge pickup seems too have too much of a vintage country character, and i'm looking for a more middy, fat and hotter bridge tone. Maybe a bit more jazzmaster-ish? My favorite tele player is jay clark of pretty girls make graves, his tone is amazing! So now i'm wondering what pickup would suit me the best? The candidates seem to be The Boss, Piledriver or Blackguard Flat 50.

Could a more experienced tele player help me out here?

BG50's for sure. The Piledriver sounds more modern, but cleans up nice too. I don''t know much about the Boss.
