Fender 2 point strat style bridge
« on: March 21, 2012, 06:28:22 PM »
Hey guys this is something i know very little about as i've always avoided fender type guitars.

As some of you may know i bought a swirled body recently and its routed for the fender USA 2 point bridge.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with various manufacturers and recommendations.

Googling just leads me round in circles and only brings up the official fender ones and a few wilkinsons.

What i am looking for is something thats really solid and stable and it has to be black.

Also the reason i avoided fenders for so long is the screws for raising the saddles annoy me as on most fenders ive played theyve been pretty rough/sharp which makes it uncomfortable to play.

Thanks
Tony

Don';t know if the PRS trem will fit the rout, but i think it comes in black and it's the best non locking trem on the mark IMO. Other than that, there's Callaham, don't know if he does wither 2 pointers or black though

I think this Gotoh unit will fit.  It's not "black black" though, more a sort of "cosmo black" or "black nickel" kind of look:

Crazy price at WD, but I expect you can get them cheaper if you shop around.  I have the six-hole version of the same bridge in chrome and I'm sure it was nowhere near that expensive.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Thanks Philly! i knew you would have some input on this :D

Cosmo/black nickel isnt a problem its just chrome/silver/grey will stick out like a sore thumb against the green & black swirl.

ill shop around more for this.

Thanks again

I recently got one of these for a project http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HIGH-QUALITY-TWIN-PIVOT-POINT-STEEL-BLOCK-FULCRUM-TREMOLO-STRAT-ETC-BLACK-/170706933897?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item27beed1889#ht_6108wt_1396
certainly seems sturdy and well made.

that does look very solid.

Ive found a good deal on a kahler 2710 that will fit so im going to try that out first.

Thanks again guys
