never actually tried any of the legends, though i think, although cheaper, they're still meant to be good speakers.

Absolutely! It is a good speaker. It paired well with the various 12" speakers that have been in this cab. Always seems to be about 30% of the tonal structure. I liked the 12" Legends as well and have heard good tones come out of lots of Eminence models. More of a grass is greener on the other side kind of a statement. I could be 100% wrong that a speaker change there would do anything for me, but a man can dream can't he?

I've only tried the patriots- like the ones i've tried :)
heard good things about the legend gb12 too
