What BKP need in a ESP ECLIPSE I FT?
« on: May 06, 2012, 05:05:01 PM »
Hello mates
I need some advice  about what BKP put in a ESP ECLIPSE I FT

I play a mixture of metal like In Flames, Soilwork, Machine Head, Chimaira, Slipknot.....

My tuning is DROP C or DROP B

in my compositions are heavy riffs, rapid changes of pace, clean parts / acoustic
I am a rhythm guitarist but I have solo parts.

My amp is a Mesa Boggie Dual Rectifier and i use a Gmajor for efects

Thanks

Hello friends

thank you very much for your advice.

I see there are three comments in favor of the Miracle Man. but  I'm also confused because I received good advice about  the Aftermath in another forums..... Is it possible that the MM is too bright?

Could you compare the Aftermath and the MM with other pickups known?

What is your opinion about the Black Hawk? It seems a more compensated pickup

thanks

sorry another question, it would be necessary to  put a complete set of BKP model? or perhaps a combination of two differents models

I've heard good reviews on Aftermath in bridge and Cold Sweat neck

I have a cold sweat in the neck and is really beautiful. The clean es transparent and very musical, fragile but depth. The miracle man vs aftermath...Miracle man has more punch, it has a "wah" voice really wonderful and in the rythm it has great lows and a really crisp and smooth highs . ( not harsh ) It's the perfect pick up for megadeth endgame tone. aftermath it's extremely clear, but , for me, has a less personality. It has better cleans and it define the notes very well in the fast stuff but i miss more " sound like wall" with it.

I would have said Miracle Man as well. It is bright, but doesn't get harsh; for example it also works great in maple neck strats.

The Miracle Man neck has a very good reputation too.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Wouldn't a Tubescreamer just make the highs even higher, a bit harsh? I'd say go for something TS-voiced, but maybe not a TS straight up.

all those bands use stock tube screamers and mostly peavey 5150/6505 amps
and the dual rectifier benefits much more from a tube screamer than a 5150

In that tuning, with a full thickness LP, go for the MM, keeps a smoothness and aggression to the sound and the top end is really good without being bright.
