Hey all
Got a BM B2, had Nailbombs in it. Black Hawks arrived for it today - discussed with Tim a week or so ago so he knows they're headed into a B2. Action on the B2 was medium - sent to tech with the job of putting the Black Hawks in and getting the action as low as possible, with the guitar tuned low B to high B (lowest 6 of a 7 string) - appropriate gauge strings chosen.
Heard from tech this avo, apparently with the Black Hawks direct mounted it looks like there'll only be about 1.5mm clearance over the bridge and 2-2.5mm over the neck - this is without the action taken down any. Dude is concerned this will be too small a gap, but the pickups can't go any lower.
Waiting to find out whether to get it set up with the BHs tomorrow anyway and see what happens....or whether there's any point, and the NBs should go back in whilst we consider what to do.
What do you think?
