Well, much better put than my last response. We are a helpful bunch and for the vast majority of threads/thread responses here you will see respectful replies/comments and a good sense of community.

The OP should really understand that and that we are always likely to help answer questions unless you start leaving tw@tish comments and generally moan when there really is nothing to moan about.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Yes i have been around 56 years and will abide to yea replies! The label on the rear of the pickup gave it's DC resistance value of 7.64k ohms which is a classic PAF type wind.

It is likely to be wound with an AWG42 wire - though it is more likely to have a solderable "polysol" insulation rather than a plain enamel or Formvar insulated magnet wire for the windings.

Couldn't say what the magnet would be - at a guess I'd wager alnico 5 as a default choice

I'd say that the pickup wouldn't be worth much as such although it might have a pleasing sound and work well against a tele bridge pickup.
