Bugera head 6262 + 112 Mesa Cab with celestion G12T-75 w or Bugera 6260?Help!

I'm trying to decide between those options. I wonder if the Bugera head + mesa cab would handle a band rehearsal. I know the combo (the bugera 6260) can do it but the problem is how to carry it and it may weight too much, being superior in that aspect the head + (tiny)cab. I need opinions, pros and contra.

If the combo can be hooked up to external cabs I'd go for that. (Because you're certain it will do.) But the cab can always be upgraded later on or replaced. Then you have a good head you can use. If you can try the head and cab to test it do that.

That's the problem. I can't test if the head + cab would have enough volume.

Can't comment on volume (although, I'd imagine both would be loud), but the 6262 has a seperate EQ for the clean channel and the Mesa cab/speaker is almost certainly better than the stock Bugera combo. That would sway me.

Actually, on the volume: my Engl Screamer combo could definately keep up with a band and it's 50W into a 112. Both Bugeras are 120W, so should be slightly louder. I'd think volume would be fine. It'd be about the tone of a higher end 112 vs a lower end 212.

That seems odd, acording to the Mesa site, the C90 is a 90W speaker (8ohm and 16ohm versios).

But yeah, after looking that up, I wouldn't risk a 120W amp into it. You'd get volume, but probably not for long like Eric said. Look into a 212 if you go for the head.

yes, that was the 90w version
speakers can overheat depending on time and use, no matter the power handling
amp volume setting was probably around 1-1,5/10 and that was pretty loud
using it for a few hours is enough to blow a good medium rating speaker
I feel that multispeaker cabs with lower powered speakers tend to handle a lot more abuse than a 1x12 with a high powered speaker
a 60w, 75w or 90w mesa cab will handle a 120w amp, but at home or at medium volume band practices... and I wouldn't push it for more than an hour
the g12t75 is a quite scooped and not much loud/sensitive speaker, so people tend to push them harder than v30's trying to get the same in-your-face type of tone

in any case, I'd steer clear of bugera
they're very unreliable amps, despite of sounding good
you could buy a new original peavey 6505+ 60w 1x12 combo for about the same price or a jet city 50w amp

I have to go ahead and agree with Eric here and say the Jet City stuff is phenomenal. It was in second place when I was going to buy a new amp. Blackstar won because, well, I liked its sound more and it was more versatile + better clean. But if you're looking at Bugera already then the Jet City is great. The 6262 is basically a cheap clone of the 6505 so that combo would be great too.

I live in Chile  so don't have many options here for the money. I won't buy the cab now and I'm trying to look for a 212. The option I have for the head are the Bugera 6262 and a Peavey Valveking but I saw videos on youtube and hated it.

The options I have for the cab are a Blackstar HTV212 / Laney IRT212 /  Bugera 212V. I've read reviews about the Bugera beeing cr@ppy.

Probably Laney on the Cab. The Blackstar cabs before the Artisan series are ok but that's it. I don't know much about the Laney though.

don't know about the 2x12 laneys, but the 4x12 sounds great with SOME amps
for some reason, my modded '73 marshall sounds better through the cheap laney 4x12 than with the mesa oversized 4x12 with v30's
I've played others that sound great with the mesa and awful with the laney

the valveking is second class amp on purpose and seems to sound cheap on purpose as well, so people would buy it until they can afford a good sounding peavey
I'm glad they realized that ideawas stupid and ended up launching a true 6505 combo for cheap (and obviously made in china)
I hope they release cheap good heads

I'd go for a Orange Dual Terror and then that Cab. I think that would at least be a safer option.
