EMG's do that trick very well, yes. Or at least, that's what they used.

How this question ended up in "Pickups" rather than being about pedals (or pedal, more like it) baffles me a bit though.

Well the reason I asked about pick ups, is because I wanted to know what pickups would be the best for the intended use.  The pedals I have I believe are corrrect.  However, considering this is a Bare Knuckles forum, I believe that you should leave you emg and duncan suggestions for those forums.

Being a veteran, its not unheard that we recommend other brands than just Bkp's.

You got to get the right BKP for what you want.  I jumped in and got a ceramic warpig for a 7 string I have.  After living with it for a little while it wasn't what I wanted for that particular guitar.  I should gone an Aftermath on the advice of the BKP guys.

Madsakre is right about mentioning other pick ups as it's something else to consider.  No disrespect to the BKP guys but get it wrong for your needs and it's a lot of money to part with.

I since put SD blackouts into my 7 string and got exactly what I wanted and they do the Stockholm sound very nicely.

BKP do make an awesome product and you really hear it when you play.  My c-pig was clear, lots of output and sounded really good if I avoided the bottom string.  But on the bottom string tuned to B the bass was way too much for my liking and I couldn't get it right without being too much or too little.  A shame as the pick up is really bloody good, just doesn't work for that guitar.

The BKP high output models should work fine, I like the Miracle Man for "oldER-fashioned" Death Metal a lot.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

I'm going to try the miracle man on my dinky and see what happens.
