yardbird neck is the business- staqggered 55 bridge?
« on: July 20, 2012, 01:40:06 AM »
Put the Yardbird neck in a Fender custom shop 62 and it's a great improvement. Compared to the stock 63 pickup there's more volume and body to the sound. The 63 is more airy and sparkly ( very good sound) but is thinner, Yardbird is more dynamic and bluesy. I reckon it has more mids in it but still very clear. Funny but I can hear a similar character to my BKP90's.
So now I'm thinking about the bridge of course.  Again the 63 sounds great but I would say is a bit on the thin, bright  side. I'm wondering whether to go with the Yardbird or The Staggered 55 'cause I like the string balance with the staggered poles. Any opinions on these two?

The staggered 55 has an emphasized upper midrange and quite some highs. You might want to consider the BG52 or the bridge-Yardbird.
