Understandable though because those lyrics fit. I haven't heard the song but she has done well because just about everyone will be able to identify-if not now then definitely at one point in their life.
I am really very soft with my cats and I must admit that when I heard your news, I gave them each a little extra stroke. Also, on the way to work on Tuesday, I saw the aftermath of a cat getting knocked down and that upset me as I have lost 2 that way.
All I'll say is that time will pass and you will come to terms. As I said before, I lost my lovely dog in similar circumstances ( a trip to the vet turned out to be one way) and I couldn't talk about it for days. This may sound wrong but when I lost my Dad, I was very sad of course but he had been ill and I know that he was not enjoying his quality of life-and of course I could talk to him almost to the very end- so I accepted it within a reasonable period - a few weeks I would say. With a cat, however, you can't talk and I think that that makes it especially hard.

Maybe this is the wrong thing to say but please bear in mind that there are record numbers of cats looking for homes. You have a cat sized hole in your life. You won't replace her but you can  give another needy cat a home life. But beware, we intended  to get one cat after ours was killed and ended up with two!

Cheers for those words!

No more cats here for the time being - we've still got 3 going strong!
I think I hate being indecisive.
