« on: September 09, 2012, 07:18:00 PM »
Hey! i want to upgrade the bridge for my PRS SE tremonti (currently a wrap around), was thinking of a Schaller Hannes bridge? anyone know if it would fit straight on? any drilling needed? thanks

I'd guess you may have to start drilling, there's a good technical drawing of the bridge on the Schaller website which should give you a better idea

There would definitely be drilling and/or routing required, on both front and back of the guitar!

Any particular reason for such a drastic change?  If you just want improved intonation adjustment a TonePros wraparound would make life a lot easier.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Thanks guys-really its to improve intonation a bit but mainly getting a bridge that is more comfortable to me-sounds like the Hannes would be too much hassle-what bridges would be available that i wouldnt need to do drilling for? will look into the Tonepros Philly :-)

If I was building a guitar from scratch I'd use the Hannes, just because it looks so beautifully designed and engineered. The problem is it's not a drop-in replacement for anything as far as I can tell.

Ah fair enough, i have heard its just verrrry comfortable - i love that kind of low bridge i guess, i imagine it having a similar profile to say a PRS with a tremolo arm -they tend to have a nice low bridge; so im after something similar but that i could use for a hardtail guitar
