Confused on Pickup Options
« on: August 28, 2012, 07:17:08 AM »
First off, im a noob.

Secondly, im looking at either a set of 6 string Aftermaths or Miracle Man pickups but i have no idea about bridge spacing, conductors and leg?

I want to put them in a DBZ Cavallo STFR but i cant find the specs of this online.

Any help?

Welcome to the party!

I'm assuming that FR stands for Floyd Rose. In that case it will be the wider (53mm) trem spacing you want.

Four conductor wiring gives you the option for coil split, series/ parallel operation, or out-of-phase wiring should you wish. With two conductor wiring, you can only have standard humbucker operation. You might as well get four conductor even if you don't plan any fancy wiring, because then you've got the option later.

Not sure on legs for your guitar (you could always take out one of the current pickups and look), but I'm guessing short leg. Long leg humbuckers tend to be on deep bodied guitars. Personally, I've only come across them in Les Pauls.
Bare Knuckles owned: Mules, VHII, Rebel Yells, BKP-91, Strat 63 set, Riff Raffs.
