Alnico Nailbomb Metal Demo

Playing some unaccompanied original riffs on my Schecter C-1 Custom with a Bare Knuckle Alnico Nailbomb in the bridge tuned to Standard + Drop-D.

This guitar has a thick Mahogany body, maple top, maple neck and ebony fretboard. The alnico nailbomb works very well in this wood combo since its suited for bright guitars. It may not be the tightest pickup for hi-gain metal but it still works well and takes a lot of gain/saturation. For this kind of metal I'd recommend one of the other modern humbuckers like the Miracle Man or Cold Sweat but the nailbomb is a lot more versatile for other genres.

I’m using an Axe-fx II for tone with the latest Firmware 9 and the Diezel VH4 + Peavey 6505 & 5150 Amp Models.

After listening to your metaldemo, i cannot wonder why a pickup must be aimed to a specific style.
For me, your sound is perfect for use in old school genres, and i like it.

I guess most of the people should say HD is perfect for old school,
but i think your sound works just fine for this genre - just a matter of taste  :)

Great playing and a very good representation of the A-Bomb. That midrange spectrum of the pickup came across like I heard it from the guitars I had it in.

I guess you have been listening to Iron Maiden quite a bit.

Cheers Stephan

I'll rephrase it and say some of the modern humbuckers are better for certain styles. All the BKPs I've tried have been very versatile.

Cheers man! Yeah it has a crunchy mid-range thats quite bright so it cuts through very well. I love Iron Maiden!
