Change of plan, 7 strings pickup needed
« on: February 18, 2006, 10:48:09 PM »
Hey people,
I'm not getting a 6 strings baritone anymore but a 7 baritone ( yea you read that right  ) as I got a nice deal for a Schecter 007 Blackjack.
She'll come with seymour pickups so I might not change them right away, but I'll CERTAINLY put some BKP in after a while.
I'm set for an alnico5 Warpig in bridge but i'm not sure about the neck.
I was going for  a mississipi queen but I don't know if there's a 7 strings version, anyone know?

Not much chance of a 7 string MQ. There aren't any covers for it.

I thought of that, it's a pity  Maybe a P90 would work, I don't know...

surely BKP could get a blank 7-string humbucker cover & drill it out for the MQ ????

Most baritones of yesteryear (mostly Fender) were equipped with single coils.

What kind of BKP humbucker could give a near P-90 sound? some of the vintage sounding pickups maybe?
Very fat dist and good clean...

If it's for a humbucker cavity, a Crawler or Abraxis neck pickup. If it's single coil, maybe a Sinner.

I got an idea today (things happen  ), how about a coil tapped Warpig?
Would this get a thick single-coilish sound?
