New Song - Metal/Progressive rock
« on: January 07, 2013, 01:32:13 PM »
Well, it's time to share some sounds from my Vintage V100 with HDs  (all the cleans) and an Ibanez RG with a Blackhawk bridge (all the heavy sounds). I really enjoyed recording and producing this song.

All the clean parts were played through a Bugera 333 and so was the heavy sounds through the chorus. The outro was all played through a Mesa Dual Rectifier. As always, I mic with a SM57 and a small-diaphragm condenser mic on an Orange 2×12 loaded with Celestion V30s. Bass were recorded straight into the desk, then I used amp simulation.

Very cool; brooding, emotive prog metal. Reminds me a bit of Threshold!

Thank you very much. Appreciate the feedback!

Have some more stuff coming out soon, more aggressive stuff with the Blackhawk.

Thank you very much.

We used my Vintage Lemondrop (Les Paul style guitar) with Holy divers for the cleans on a clean channel on the Bugera. I basically keep the Bugera in the studio because of the clean tones, they are pretty warm more with an American type sound than a British character. Very nice that amp in certain modes, surprised me alot. And if I remember correctly we used both pickups, volume at around 70% with the bridge splitted to single coil. I have notices that you can vary the tone qutie alot by splitting either of the pups and using them together.
