I also play through a Rockerverb 50 and a Fender twin. The strat will be hard tail as well (not sure if that will make a difference)

I got an Emerald set in a LP clone and it's quite bright and I wouldn't put it in my strat, but bear in mind that I really don't like a trebly tone.

Yeah strats tend to be on the brighter side of the spectrum, but they can vary a lot still.

Maybe. Hardtails in general sound a tad bigger in the bridge position then tremloaded strats and they tend to have more sustain.

I think I would consider a vhii before an emerald but after watching clips of the crawler in strats I'm not so scared to try it.
