I got in early this morning from this gig. I'd not seem them live since I was about 20. It was absolutely magnificent. Soooooo many highlights to the night - it was one of those gigs where the time just flies by.
Richard Oakes guitar tone was absolutely immense. He seemed to be playing through a Marshall bluesbreaker and an AC30. Main guitars used were a 355, LP Custom, Jaguar and a Tele with a bigsby.
Ears still ringing. Anyone else go?

They're one of those bands I kind of liked but never really got into (I'm too old, apart from anything else! )
As a fan, Ian, how do you feel about Bernard Butler not being involved in the reunion?

My initial reaction was that I would rather Bernard Butler had been there. Those thoughts lasted right up until Richard Oakes played the first few bars of 'Barriers'. By the end of the show I'd nearly forgotten all about the other guitarist (a bit of an exaggeration but Oakes really was that good).
I think that it was THE best live guitar sound I have ever heard. His tone was stunning all night and the sound was mixed perfectly.
