I think a fitting image to explain the difference between the MM bridge and AM is two fighters. The MM is this berserker like brawler while the AM is a highly trained martial artist.
Both dangerous as heck in their own right.
What I can say about the AM neck is that in the guitar I currently still have my set in (it will come out soon as it is one of those "amazing PUs in the wrong axe" kinda thing) I like the neck more than the bridge. The AM neck delivers amazing lead tones, from modern metal shred things to early Petrucci tones, the later being what I loooooove about these things. Suprisingly (well, suprising if you have not realized yet how freaking good and versatile BKPs are) they deliver great cleans too. Ok, you canīt compare them to what a mule can produce, but for a high output metal PU those are stunning cleans, and they certainly do those modern ambient things perfectly.
I think the AM will do what you want very, very well. People associate it too much with the bridge which leads to this one being one of those often overlooked gems among the BKP line.
