I'm going to try a DiMarzio super distortion as I want some nice Maiden tones from it.  Good thing about a Strat is I can always wire up another scratchplate if needed.

Thats true- yes that pup should work well-funnily the Super Distortion has a smiliar eq curve to the CPig (according to the respective sites anyways) so that could work also

Very nice, and amazingly tight playing as always mate! Glad it worked out for you. I'm thinking about getting myself a Warpig as well for my Strat as my Holydiver even sound too thin (!!!) in that guitar and I play with it in standard tuning anyway. Just how tight do you perceive it to be when playing? Not sure if I'll go with Alnico or Ceramic...

Cheers dude!
I love the sound the WP is giving me, I havent tried it in a band scenario yet but i dont really see it being a problem-if needbe i always have a 10 band eq i can call on to tweak things further. Its my first Alnico pup so for to me it sounds rounder and warmer when compared to the ceramic pups i have had before; so in that respect i wouldnt say its as tight as some of the ceramic pups-however i truly believe that proper tightness comes from the player, so if you play tight anything will sound tight basically. What i must say though is that the cleans are to die for, again lots of people have known about this regarding Alnico vs Ceramic, but for me its the first time I've experienced it-so i am very happy about that. If you want a bit more mids and more rounded treble go Alnico, if you want it with a tad less mids, tighter and more high end bite go Ceramic. I think that either way it will make your Strat sound BIG!
