Pickup Help for a Custom Guitar
« on: August 28, 2013, 06:31:05 PM »
Hi everyone! Yet another question about pickups and which are the right ones for me. Luckily this time I have a much clearer idea of what I'm looking for. Alright, here it goes.

- The guitar that I'll be putting the pickup in a custom modeled off a Kramer Baretta. The body is solid mahogany and the neck/ fretboard is maple. There's only a bridge pickup, so I don't need to worry about neck pickups, obviously.

- I have 3 other guitars with BKPs in them already, and 2 of the three have ceramic bridge pups, which I greatly prefer. So I'm definitely thinking something with a ceramic magnet is a must.

- I have a MM7 in my BC Rich jrv-7, which has kind of similar (albeit lower quality) sounding woods, and it sounds really good, if just a tad on the bright side.

- The other one is a Jackson RR3 with a C-Pig. It's the best sounding guitar I own, it pretty much nails the tone I've had in my head.

- Compared to my BKP guitars, the rest are almost unplayable, so that's why I need to get one for my custom.

- I'm thinking a C-Pig would be too dark in this guitar, I think I have it narrowed down to a MM, PK, or CS. I anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks
