Try measuring the DC resistance and comparing it to the specs on the website.

I wouldn't know how to unfortunately.
Beside the type I was also wondering if it was upside down as well?
whoever made these 'upgrades' has not done a very pretty job so I wanna rectify all that needs rectifying as soon as I got all the relevant info.
tHe middle pick up kills the other two when its selected in conjunction with them and has very little presence on its own.
Wired wrong maybe? (Definitly soldered badly!!!!!!)

Could be bad soldering or maybe it's not RW/RP.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I measured my single against the schematics for the BKP strat and tele but they do not match.
Mine measures 60.9mm x 17mm

Stock vs RWRP middle single coils.

Answer: A stock middle coil will have more mid range on the in between positions of the 5 way selector and not be hum canceling. You'll also notice marginally more volume across the whole set of 3 coils.Fender Strats originally came with 3 stock wound/polarity coils. RWRP middle coil will hum cancel in positions 2 and 4 of the 5 way selector, arguably more versatile than a stock middle coil and popularized by players like Mark Knopfler and Eric Johnson.

So losing presence/power in 2 and 4 positions is "intentional"?

Apologies for my lack of understanding btw

It sounds like your middle coil is running out of phase with the humbucker coils in positions 2 and 4. The wires for the middle coil are wired in the wrong way around in these pictures, try swapping the black and white connections at the switch and the back of the pot. While you have those 2 wires disconnected, measure the resistance between them with a multimeter, that will give you your dc resistance figure to help you to identify the coil.

All of your pickups are mounted the right way around.

When we make single coils, we make the wind direction of the coil and polarity of the magnets correct for their original application, so it may be that you have a middle coil that was originally wound for a full strat set, not HSH. Also, it may not even be a middle coil. In many cases, though, we should be able to get it to work ok once it's identified :-)

If you swap those wires out, pay attention mainly to positions 2 and 4; do you get a fuller signal and do you get lots of hum or very little.

Good luck!
