Maybe a set of miracle men would be cool

I was thinking about the Miracle man, although the high treble output might be a bit much. Also, trying to keep to the original colour scheme do BKP do coloured zebra pickups?

The 500t/496r are spikey pickups anyway, probably the swamp ash brings that out even more. Maybe a set of miracle men would be cool.

You can get those fadeds for less than 500 second hand, but I don't think the timbers used are always the best. No problem for the price though!

But warm congratulations on the Voodoo. I was there considering a snipe but got cold feet. I think Christmas probably did help keep the price down. You got a fine bargain!

Yeah, I had a Voodoo SG, you need to get shot of the pups it comes with pronto, they're horrid in it. Not sure what I'd put in there now, but it's quite bright so you might want to tame that a bit.

Yep, Cleggy had some red/black zebras made for his Explorer.

I have the Les Paul Voodoo, and I don't know how the neck thickness compares with the V version.
I've had better results with the Alnico Nailbomb than the Miracle Man, because the MM sounded thin and harsh on the treble strings; also, the guitar is relatively light on mids (for a LP), so the NB works better just allround IMO.

I would imagine that a range of Alnico pickups would work, such as Juggernaut, Black Dog etc.

I'd not rule out trying to snag an Edwards V also. Cleggy's (formerly Philly Q's I believe) is rather brilliant.

The Edwards look like very good quality, I will keep an eye out for one at a decent price. I have always liked Vs but I'm a little concerned I'm too much of a short arse to pull one off  :lol:

I love the look and that set-neck mahogany (or korina) sound, though.  The Voodoo is swamp ash, if I remember right?  Always wondered how they would sound.

I just finished and delivered this guitar earlier in the week- loaded with a mule and Stormy Monday - sounded superb!

The ribbed rubber strip is recessed with just the ridges protruding (gibson did this originally)
It does seem to work to stop the V sliding off your leg very nicely!
