Hi all, this is my first post on this forum :)
I think the title mostly says what I'm asking. I've read a similar post regarding this issue, I would however like to know how this would affect sound/tone regardless of aesthetics in the case of a Mule pickup.

Thanks!

I guess it depends on your guitar but it would sound more trebly in the bridge slot

I can imagine that it would work well in a bright guitar together with a higher output model in the bridge position.

Ha, I read it back to front.

The bridge pickup would sound more bassy in the neck slot.

... compared to the neck model in the same set.

@OP: if you have a bridge humbucker and a guitar which needs a humbucker in the neck spot, just go ahead and try it. You can always go back. But I would not necessarily order a BKP bridge model to use as a neck pickup unless I got a specific recommendation from Tim or Ben.

As per the above im not sure of your thought process of putting the mule bridge in the neck but what I will say is the mule neck is my fave of all the bkp neck pups ive tried.

I have a Les Paul with a Black Dog in the bridge, and a Mule bridge in the neck. I was looking for a neck pickup but someone was selling the mule bridge locally so I figured I'd save a few bucks and try it.
It sounds fine to me but I'm not a huge neck player. It pairs well with the Black Dog in terms of output, and has a great woody tone with maybe a bit more power and bite than your typical neck.
I don't think the mule bridge and neck are that far apart in output anyway.

I would  give it a try. The usual Mule-neck is a masterpiece.
