Guitar Fetish Solid Steel Tremolo Block

I didn't go down the usual Brass route as I find it round the highs and soften the attack significantly which is exactly the opposite of what I was aiming for.

What I did do was go with a solid steel big block from guitar fetish.

After installing it and playing for a few hours or so I can say it's surpassed what I expected by far. The low end is a lot snappier and punchier and the mids have a really nice bite as does the high end and its a little brighter too.

Overall the tone is thicker and tighter. For $21 I am incredibly happy and will also be replacing my Ibanez blocks as soon as the edge blocks are available.

I got one of those GFS blocks as well a while back and fitted it to a Squier I have. Alot nicer than the stock item :)

Mhhh sounds like a great thing for the axe with wilkinson trem I wanne put crawlers into. Only really hear about brass blocks so far but this sound like just what I want too.

Did you import from the US or is there a european dealer for them? (I really wanne avoid any dealings with customs...)



Now if I could find someone who does brass replacements for Ibanez ZR (Zero Reistance) trems...

I imported it and it got to the uk in just over a week and without any customs attention.

Mhhh...it is just that customs seems to hate me so much...makes me VERY hesitant.

The nearest office is half an hour drive away (the gas cost) and they called me in for things like a single CD, jewelcase just enclosed by cardboard (really looking like a CD, nothing else could fit in there) with it being labeled CD very clearly (sent by CDbaby).
For some reason they must have thought that it was worth more than 25 bucks or have something else in there (or just wanne take a cr@p on me).
Turns out I did not have to pay any customs (suprise) but had to pay half the price of the CD (including shipping) in gas costs plus 1 1/2 hours of my time.
That was the worst, but certainly not the only instance of shite happening.

Bottomline: I f*cking hate customs.

That's really unlucky.

I guess you could try and see if theres anyone in your country or the EU that makes a similar product

It is quite ridiculously sized! I expected it to really affect the trem range but it hasn't. However its not like you can go crazy on a fender trem anyway

Nope. The original is made from cheap diecast pot metal

Guitar Fetish has 3 trem block sizes. What should I measure on my strats to make sure it fits? Just the string spacing in mm?

i could use 3 of them but am a bit afraid to order 3 wrong ones.

You are measuring the screw spacing on the actual block/bridge itself
