Just got this Italian gem, that turns your clean channel into a threechannelamp. Sounds warm, tight, fluid and very amplike. You can tailor the mids on the solochannel. It has loads of gain. For me 10-11 o'clock works fine. Great pedal for low volume venues.



This vid shows the Mercury Box 1. Actually the rhythm-channel of version 2. Rhythm is a bit understated, as this channel has gobs of gain too.

Haven't checked the clip yet, but the pedal looks cool and from your description it seems like a really useful tool especially if you have a limited room on your pedalboard.

That might be the most "amp in a box" like distortion I have yet seen. With the 2 channel thing that certainly seems very cool. Great to know such things exist! Now I wonder if I could build me a clone...xD

The MCB is based on the drivechannel of the Brunetti Mercury 50 watt EL34-amp. It can compete with my Emma Reezafratzitz, that's still an awesome pedal. The MCB is a tighter though and sounds a tad drier, but therefore keeps clarity and noteseparation with a lot of gain.

If you can build a clone you'll save some good money. This box isn't cheap.

The comparisson with the Emma is especially interesting to me. I will soon do a second clone of that (gifted away the first one but loved it).

Clones are currently my only shot at getting pedals like this really. It is a lot of fun, but I would do more experimenting with DIY and more buying actual pedals if I had the money.

Congrats! I went pedal shopping TWICE recently, but couldn't find anything I wanted. How strange!

Oh man, I tried so many pedals lately. A lot of nice stuff, but I only buy pedals I actually need in my current band. Therefore I shop very carefully. Better for my wallet too!  :D

That's the beauty of a good forum, isn't it? The trying pedals bit I mean. Trading pedals and only losing a fiver postage.

Correct. It's Italian. They make nice stuff nowadays in Italy. I also have a The Valve 2/50 EL34-combo, also an Italian brand. 
I'm a little priviliged cause Bax-Shop - which is entering the Englisch market with an onlineshop soon as a competitor of Thomann  - is located in my hometown. Next to the warehouse they opened last year a big store. Easy to try pedals, guitars and amps.
Bax-shop already has a German and a French webshop. They are growing fast.
