The mighty Holy Divers! Not surprised you like em. =) They had a certain "coming home" effect on me when I got em.

Also nice little review, gonna add it to the collection, since it gives a good idea of the feel.

Cheers!

Hello Kiichi, "yes" it was like coming home for me also! I just wanted to
Add a little review as I'm sure many have given reviews in the past, I didn't want to repeat all the great thing that's already been said.

Are you into Simular tones? I can't say enough about the HD :)

I am all over the place in terms of tones as my pickup list in my signature suggests. I am just drawn all around, from jazzy and folky clean tones to classic rock and blues stuff to modern metal and such. The Holydiver for me is mainly seated in the classic to progressive metal area (Dream Theater and other proggy stuff), sharing some space with the Rebell Yell. Those two really complement each other well. Where the HD is warm, full and smooth the RY is screaming, punchy and more all out (more 80s hair metal).

If my RY axe was not HSH with extra wiring options I would put the 7 string with the HD and Emerald down as my most versatile rock and metal axe. Authentic classic 80s sounds plus modern stuff delivered with character.

Although BKPs are crazy versatile pickups I like to have this amount of axes (more coming in the future) so that each one covers a specific sound and feel, a sweetspot. That way I donīt have to stretch a guitar, but can if needed.

My son is the one who got me into BKP! on this guitar he has the "Holy Diver Set" nice guitar that I had built for him (TK Instruments)

He's also has the "War Pig, Trilogy suite, Holy Diver Ceramic, Slow Hand, Miracle Man" as I've been into Suhr, Anderson, PRS (pickups also).

It sounds like you, we search for great tones!

Ah yes, I remember that beauty from "the before time". Damn, do I want a fanned fret guitar (especially an acoustic though). Lucky son!

Nice review. I found that all BKP are well balanced, unlike some other pickup manufacturers.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Hello and I'm the lucky one! and yes my son's pretty lucky also. It was a present for graduating college! He's wanted a TK guitar for years and I thought, it would be a great time. His other guitars with BKP:

The Natural has a Warpig and a Sinner (Guitar signed by Allen Holdsworth), and the Blue has a Holy Diver Ceramic and Trilogy Suite, both sound & play great, he's more into newer shapes (soloist) and I like more traditional LP, Strat, (strat shape favorite). I've own so many guitars, Suhr, Anderson, PRS etc. but I really love the Charvel, plays killer sounds wonderful..

Hello Alex, "YES" from experience with my sons guitars, I was surprised how the Warpig as powerful as it is, was smooth almost like Allen Holdsworth smooth (metal kind of way) and I like it! but in writing the review I wasn't as in-depth as I could have been about the Holy Diver, it's more of the kind of pickup that fits me. From experience my Suhr's and Anderson's were very balanced:

And out of my guitars the PRS Artist wasn't very good, (Dragon II pups) believe it or not but my Charvel is one of the best sound & playing, the Anderson would be 2nd and the Suhrs are 3rd. Nice tops doesn't mean better, although the workmanship is top notch with the Anderson/Suhr (PRS just ok) again how surprised I was with the Charvel mostly the fretwork and tone, but I did change the Floyd to German Made, Brass block & Claw, Schellar straplocks and now Holy Divers, great guitar!

Those are some GORGEOUS quilt finishes on your guitars. I'm drooling!

I'm particularly pleased that you sing the praises of the Holydiver 'set' because while the bridge version has been popular for a long time, the neck version has been rather overlooked and it's a beauty. I've been championing the Holydiver neck ever since I first tried one so it's good to have someone else singing its praises.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

I can't comment on the Holydivers, just had to say that although my own taste in guitars couldn't be much more different, those are some beautiful-looking instruments.

I like the white humbuckers on the Charvel too, nice understated look.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Thank you Slartibartfarst42 and yes there nice guitars but My favorite for tone would be the Charvel, and Yes Philly Q the "White" I thought would go nicely with the guitar.
