Klon (which is a GREAT OD)

Tell me more... is it worth the money? is it really as amazing as I've heard? they have one in Peaches guitar shoppe i think - i might go check it out next time i visit my old nan

I love boosters and tried several, including the ZVEX SHO, Klon Centaur and RC and AC boosters from X-otic. I got a Banzai NRSII (made in Berlin) in the end because it worked best with my rig.

The Klon is very good. With lower settings it will boost your signal in a very nice way, adding sustain and dynamics without imposing itself on the sound. Turn it up and it starts to overdrive itself in a very nice way, adding overtones and some bottom end. In comparison the SHO adds way more spark to the sound but works better with dark sounding amps. The X-otics are great too, the AC actually quite close to the Klon in terms of general sound but just that bit less refined in a hard to explain way.

Keep in mind however that a booster pedal can only sound as good as the amp behind it, and that finding the sweet spots usually takes some time.

Kilby's right there's lots of classic pedals missing.  And where's the Dallas Rangemaster?

I've got a Boss CE-1 Chorus and I don't rate it.  It sucks the top end out of the signal.  I much prefer the EH Small Clone.

They must really like the Octavia as it's in there twice.  Once as the original Roger Mayer Octavia and once as the Tycobrahe Octavia (a copy of Mayer's original).

For the life of me I couldn't remember the name of the rangemaster, which is why the vox crept in, plus my boss hadn't went home yet ;)

The maestro fuzz was included I'm just blind and stupid

Many of the so called classic chorus moments (the police) where actually the EH electronic mistress.

Thanks to the 80s I loathe chorus pedals, 'Bette Davies Eyes' if I start swinging that chorus pedal the Jim Steinman would have had panda bear eyes (and concussion).

As an aside I see Dave Gilmours new pedalboard is being documented http://petecornish.co.uk/bop.html apparently it's all valve.

Looks like they didn't include any tube driven boxes either.

This site is a better guide to stomp boxes, I think.

Buy the Analogman effects book - its a monster of a book and has tonnes of cool info in it.
