The right 8 String pickup ?
« on: May 31, 2015, 09:51:05 AM »
Dear BKP user,

well I recently got my 8 string guitar and am thinking of giving it a good pickup in it but just no idea to which to choose for the right pickup for me...

I play metal and am trying to learn good progression chords like Tosin abasi.. i play a Fryette 50CL and an old VHT pittbull classic and intend to getta Ultra lead as soon...

i am looking a PU not too change too much of character of the amp but if can retain clarity over strings, tight bass response and a sweet leads with slight saturation to create that depth...

my guitar is basically a maple neck thru with swamp ash, macassar ebony and a walnut top.... i guess my guitar has nature of bite and aggression on it and if anybody can intro me a PU that will work well on leads chords and metal chugging...
so far i been thinking of a set of 8 string aftermath, holydiver and blackdog but no idea which be better for 8 string guitar being also well balanced ?

Thank you ;)
