Abraxas and Riff Raff/Mule demo!
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:08:39 AM »
Evenin'! I made a quick comparison of these pickups. They are not in the same guitars, so beware! The Abraxas is in a Gibson Les Paul Custom and the Riff Raff/Mule are in a Czech Epiphone Les Paul. Both have RS-kit and I use the same profile on the Kemper on both (Marshall DSL100 with TS).

Riff Raff/Mule: https://soundcloud.com/alfi27/riff-raff-demo/s-Jn0ez
The first thing I noticed is that the Abraxas has noticeably more output. It also has more bass, which makes it a bit less tight. The Riff Raff is with no doubt my favorite, but the Abraxas sounds better than the Riff Raff in the LP Custom. Have not tried the Abraxas in the Epiphone, but I think it would be too bassy.
BKs: Black Dog (b), Riff Raff (b), HSP90 Nantucket (b).

Sounds awesome!  I'm trying to decide which pups to put in my new les paul.  Man, that riff raff has the sound...
