Finish like Schaller Satin Chrome?
« on: February 10, 2016, 01:05:02 PM »
I have a new guitar build in the works and i might choose Schaller hardware. They have a finish called satin chrome which looks pretty cool IMO, see pic below.
I wonder what BKP cover would most resemble this finish? Brushed nickel? Nickel? I understand there is no Satin Chrome in the BK options, can't find it anyway...

That looks very similar to the ResoMax bridge that Graph Tech make, which comes in a regular nickel.  The edges might be less rounded on the screw heads and bridge saddles though.

Yeah, they look almost identical... :)
But I'd like to have this Satin Chrome look without the shine. It's hard to say if any  of  the BKP finishes come close? Maybe close enough? I think that satin looks classy, and maybe there's something similar in the BK range?
Another advantage with Schaller is i can buy their locking tuners knobs and stuff with the same satin finish...

I sent an email to support also, let's see what they think.
But now i also found Schaller have metal pickup rings in satin chrome. Maybe those rings with open black holy divers would be cool and a little unusual? The guitar will have a rosewood darkbrown top and ebony fretboard so it might work..

Yeah, I saw that... But it's hard to see how similar they really are? Schaller also have, believe it or not, Satin Chrome pickup covers.
I wonder if you'd have to put wax inside the cover of you buy open pickups and install them in these covers?

Got a reply from support, and the brushed nickel is the closest to satin they've got.
Now i have to decide whether to go with black pickup rings + brushed nickel pickups or black open pickups with satin chrome pickup rings....
I'm trying to find decent pics of the BK brushed nickel but no luck. The ones in the gallery section are no longer available.
