2x12 cab for metal?
« on: March 07, 2016, 10:02:26 AM »
I have a Laney Ironheart IRT60 head, I bought it for convenience when I played gigs where we didn't need to bring backline. Now things are picking up and we're doing bigger shows and I need a reliable cab.

So just wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for a good 2x12. I would say the Ironheart is inherently quite a bright amp and is super tight, I'm playing a set of Juggernauts into it and I have no problems with definition or tightness but could use a cab to help me retain those qualities of the amp but also beef up the low end abit.

Zilla seems to be a popular choice and I've played a really nice Mesa 2x12 but I'd like something that won't completley break the bank either.

I personally have little to no experience here so would appreciate any advice at all and you guys haven't let me down yet.

Thanks.

I can highly recommend the orange ppc212 OB I personally prefer the open back to the closed back.

I can highly recommend Roadkill cabs. If you are in the UK there's a guy selling a vertical roadkill 2x12 on the fretboard forum & facebook. The cabs are well priced and sound fantastic.

I've got the older version of this (mine is a closed back, no mic sim) and it sounds amazing for metal.

Cheap as chips, but I can't fault it. I'd be happy gigging it.
