The Mule but more...
« on: September 20, 2016, 01:34:00 AM »
Ok, so I own two sets of BKP pickups.  A set of Mules and a set of Rebel Yells.  Love both sets.  I absolutely love the tone of the Mules.  However, I would really love a bridge pickup that had the tone of the Mule with the output of the Rebel Yell.  Does such a pickup exist in the BKP line?  Thanks for the help!

The Abraxxas is commonly cited as a Mule on steroids. Vintage essence, but more output, warmth, etc. So that is the easiest answer here.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

I have Rebel Yell and Abraxas sets. The Abraxas is close to the RY in output but manages to produce vintage sounds at the same time. I'm sure you will love the Abraxas set. What guitar are you looking to put them in ?
PRS Bernie Marsden Abraxas set
PRS S2 Singlecut RY's
JV Strat  IT Bridge
Gibson SG JB bridge
Fender Mex Tele Thinline TV Jones Classics
Fender Bassbreaker 15
Yamaha THR 100 Dual

The answer have been given. That's the one. Unless you're guitar is bright and thin and needs waaay more mids, go Crawler.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Abraxas is definitely close to the output of the Rebel Yell and has a smooth tone. It may not be as bright as a lower output model.
