Hello all,

I'm coming here for some advice on which bridge pickup to choose for my USA dean ML 30th anniversary (lovely guitar by the way), it comes stock with a SH4/59 combo, and i'm not a big fan of sh4 they have a high end fizz that i don't like. I've tried my bkp warpig Alnico V in it and it becomes too mushy though the output amount is good for what I want (the SH4 is somewhat mushy as well).
This guitar is mahogany with a sequoia top I think (it's redwood), it's pretty dark and warm (the warpig works well in my Les paul custom for example). I don't solo, i'm a rythm riff player, chuggy metal.
I like a bump in my sound at around 1 khz, and something tight (I'm not going for a dimebag sound at all)
I was wondering if a ceramic warpig would do the trick ? Otherwise what would you BKP conaisseurs recommend ? Juggernaught.

Thanks for reading :)

Thanks for the replies! I was listening to some samples of BKPs on youtube today, I'm thinking the nailbomb ceramic might do the trick, it seems to have a bump around the 1khz mark that i'm looking for, the alnico one sounds like it has more high end and overall smoothed out frequencies compared to the ceramic version, but then that was youtube (on a gibson LP). But ceramic in general does sound more throaty/growly to me.
The rebel yell hasn't really convinced me from what I've heard.
I'll look into the painkiller a bit more

the c-bomb is a little darker voiced in the mids
I like it better than the alnico version, but I wouldn't say it has bumpy mids at all
it's not scooped, but it's pretty flat voiced
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

Aftermath might be a little too thin for you. Alnico nailbomb sounds like it would suit you. Sounds pretty tight in the clips I've heard. Check out black hawk maybe?
