Aftermath humbucker - BKP demo by Misha Mansoor
« on: October 28, 2010, 11:25:40 AM »
Another example of the Aftermath humbucker doing what it does best! Loaded into an Ibanez RG 7 string demoed by Misha Mansoor  of Periphery/Bulb.

Ill have to ... Take a look and make some comparisons
first of all : From the description... i missed the text where it mentions the HIGHS.
or at least the text didnt arrive in My newsletter.
q: (
But event though considering the highs arent mentioned that much or not at all... this one sounds like its My Pickup more than the other Bare knuckle pickups i have played : Painkiller, Miracle man, Warpig and my favorite NAILBOMB. ALl bridge positionn ONLY.
i sold the PK and MM and kept the WP AND NB.
what i loved about the Pk was its highs and high middles.
what i loved about the MM(but not that much because it still sounded a little bit too dry for my even though i dig the emg 81 sound quite a lot) was its Tight and focused Bass and middy bass.
what i love about the WP is the massive amount of sound you got from it.. but its nothing that i couldnt live without. im thinking in selling it and get an aftermath. q: )
And what i LOve about the NB is its airy sound ,meaty and tight bass and output.  it has the right amount of output and the right amount of bass and the right kinda character to the bass sound.
The highs are airy but i wish they could sing more and sound a little bit more WET. AND the middles .. are ok but since i LOVE My middles and i like ti to GRIND it .. so i would love that it could have a hotter grinding middle response and a more amount of middles.

did i describe the Aftermath  here with all positive things i like in Each pickup???
i see that the AFtermath ist yet featured to the products ranking... so.. i would like to know from Tim or someone else what does the aftermath compare to these 4 pickups i just described here.

Q: )
Hails and Thanks.
JP
PS - I didnt listen to the samples YET. because its too early in the morning and laptop speakers are as cr@ppy as hell.
ill go to the dentist and when i come back ill check it.
and post another comment to it.

Heya JP i have both the MM and AM.

I find the AM to be a ballsier MM with more mids that are even grindier.

The highs sing

and the bass whilst not as pronounced as the MM are tighter with more attack.

I think you will really get along with one.

I have tried it in my mahogany/maple top Ibanez RGA which it sounded great in but a little tamed compared to the MM

And i currently have it in my Ibanez RGD 26.5" thats basswood with a maple neck and it is just the perfect pickup for the guitar.

It retains clarity with the extended scale right down through the tunings to C standard (i dont go lower)

But it still has that same tightness and aggression that it has in higher tunings but more evil sounding.

ope this has been helpful

F&*$%ing Hailz JP.

I reckong the AM is right up your street. Like Tony, I have also only had the MM of those pickups you describe, but the tonal characteristics of the aftermath match really well with what you said you like of each pickup.  The bass response is nowhere near as strong as the MM, but the AM does have much grindier and more aggressive mids, which is fantastic for me. The top end is also quite prominent - lots of pick attack. It's not quite as smooth/compressed as the miracle man (hence the grindy aggressiveness).

Go for it! :)

Hi everyone :D

Wanted to know if the aftermath would be a good match in an alder guitar, yes? No? Tim recommended it.

If Tim recommended it and it matches your playing style then it will definitely be a good match

Tight as a cat's ass :D

Yeah that's the joys of a good producer making it sound that tight mate all the djenty bits that sound super tight would have been cropped on the guitar tracks, the tonality of the pickup is amazing though, this clip has made me just go buy one"!!!!!!!!!
Cant wait to get this in my jaden rose and bash it out through the diezel vh4!

Awesome writing btw misha
