A5 Mule neck vs Riff Raff neck
« on: April 14, 2017, 04:23:27 PM »
I was recommended a Mule neck + Riff Raff bridge by Ben @ BKP. I figure he knows what he's talking about, just wanted to see what others think.

When listening to the sound clips of the Mule and the Riff Raff in the neck, I preferred the Riff Raff. Sounded more "lively". I know it has an A5 magnet while the stock Mule has A4.

Anyone compared the Mule with an A5 magnet vs the Riff Raff?

they don't offer the A5 mule anymore for a long time
the neck a5 mule and neck riff raff have the same wire type but different symmetry, so the A5 mule should be slightly bassier and treblier but less midrangy
also, the mule would have a long magnet and the riff raff has a short magnet, which also should affect the bass just a little
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat
