Mayones Setius 7, bridge pickup
« on: April 10, 2017, 09:47:06 AM »
Hey everyone,

this is my first post here.

I recently got my Mayones Setius 7, mahogany body + maple top. Pretty standard. I absolutely love it. BUT! it has air norton which is kinda not the best pickup for the music I play (prog, math metal).

I'm looking for a well-balanced bridge pickup slightly towards mid range for that (for a lack of a better word) djenty/twangy tone, with good clarity on chords.

I was looking at black hawk or aftermath, these seem to be quite obvious, but is there any other options? and why?

Thanks!

Other go-to's would be the Juggernaut and Painkiller... depends on what tuning, and what you want it to sound like.

I think aftermath is what you want. Just got one and it's awesome. Would like to know more about black hawk myself, but I don't think there are any other pickups in BKP range that do what you're looking for apart from aftermath and black hawk. Painkiller is not as modern sounding as aftermath from what I've heard. Maybe juggernaut? I didn't like any of the clips though, not enough high end for me, prefer the mid focus of aftermath.

Aftermath (bridge), alnico Black hawk (set), holydiver (set)
