I don't agree that the Cold Sweats high end is similar to a Painkiller.

The Painkiller has a very very strong attack, where as the Cold Sweat has a more normal attack. The Cold Sweat is generally a bright pickup, but has a fairly strong bass for your palm mutes as well.

I fitted my Cold Sweat into a Fender Cyclone - Alder body, rosewood board. It sounds very good, a high gain screamer for sure, but versatile too. Good cleans.

It's hard to say but in my opinion the high end of the painkiller and cold sweat are similar but the high end of the painkiller is much more prominent because there is a TONNE of hi mids and centre mids thrown in too.

I've had loads of BKP's in my les paul and ive settled on painkillers for months now theyre exactly what I was after but I did have cold sweats in before and I loved the cold sweats I just decided that live I wanted more power and cut because I want a very aggressive and cutting live sound that people can't ignore!

I have found that the alnico black hawks and painkillers were monsterous in a les paul but covered different ground.  I'll do a few more reviews soon which may help people.

Can anyone compare Emerald neck with Black Hawk neck, please? Before I`ll make a final decision and place an order, I`m torn between those 2 neck models.
So Cold Sweat and Emerald/Black Hawk neck?

thanks

Many thanks,
finally decided on Cold Sweat bridge and VHII neck, placed the order couple of days ago, just waiting for post now. CS zebra open coil, VHII tyger cover

I must say I have high expectations from Cold Sweat, so far the best pickup that I`ve played is Miracle Man bridge, love everything about this pickup CS seems to be quite similar but with less bass, just more 'hard rock' version
VHII neck that might be quite interesting as well, especially in comparison to my Cold Sweat neck in other guitar, I know VHII seems to be a bit darker but hope Ill enjoy it.
