Alnico Nailbomb set or Alnico Warpig Set?
« on: July 21, 2017, 10:25:59 PM »
In the last post I made here, I wanted some pickup suggestions for my guitar. It's a Schecter C-1 40th Anniversary. Here is the link to the specs in case anyone would want to check it out: https://www.schecterguitars.com/vault/listing/c-1-40th-anniversary-natural-pearl-detail

I have now been able to narrow the list down to 2 choices- either the alnico Nailbomb set or the alnico Warpig set. I should mention that I only play some these days, but that's certain to change once I finish learning how to play. (I've never yet finished due to my teachers moving on in their lives & me trying to find a job right now.) But back to the matter at hand, it's tough for me to decide as these particular 2 sets seem rather similar. If someone here is convinced I should choose the ceramic version for either of these sets, I'll consider it. But I just need help deciding! Mostly I'm into modern rock, modern metal, pop-rock, & other alternative styles. My future setup I plan to have will consist of the following: a Boss GT-1 multi-effects pedalboard, & a Peavey Bandit 112 amp. I hope someone can help out somehow! And if you have any other questions or just need details, drop me a line!

I shall await the answers I seek...

I've only tried the Alcino nailbomb in a les paul custom, and it had a GREAT rhythm tone. Chords sounded very dirty and had a rather warm bite, but it was still very articulate and you could really hear the quality that a chord's given notes provided to the chord itself.

Nailbomb.

But as I said the last time, your amp plays bigger role in your tone than pickups.
