Bridge pickups for PRS CUSTOM 22
« on: August 04, 2017, 05:11:31 PM »
can you give me recommendation? I hesitate between warpig ceramic, painkiller and juggernaut. I owned PRS custom 22 top ten with mahagony body. I am searching sound such as Bring me the horizon on last CD. I  love warpig cream sample but i am affraid of too much bass. In my band is only one guitar and i want the sound was strong (no djent, no deathmetal, no heavymetal, but strong, dirty chord). Our music is similar asi bring me the horizon thatīs why i say it as an example.  Thanks you so much

I don't know what these PRS models are like with Warpigs, but they seem to work very well with the Holy Diver and Crawler pickups, and in some ways the alnico Warpig is closely related to those.

I would send an email to BKP to ask if they have had feedback regarding the A-Pig in your guitar model, but I think it should work okay.  How bassy is your guitar now?  I put an A-Pig in an Explorer and found that too bassy, but moved it to an SG and now it sounds pretty bright

Thanks. But i am afraid that holy driver and clawler will be sound old and heavy metal. On the other hand some people said that ceramic pickups are better for detuning and modern sound. I have drop C tunning. i send email to BKN last week but no answer. Sorry my english i am from czech republic.

I have the alnico Warpig in a Gibson SG Special Faded and the alnico Nailbomb in an Epiphone Explorer.

If you listen to the new demo of my band (see the bandcamp link in my signature) you can hear what they sound like through a Peavey 6534+

Tracks 1 & 3 are done entirely with the Nailbomb Explorer.  Both have the EQD Ghost Echo reverb on most sections.

The first half of track 2 is with the Warpig SG, the second half is with the Explorer.  There is no reverb on the first half with the Warpig, and the lead section in the second half is the Nailbomb neck with delays.

Track 4 is entirely with the Warpig SG and the reverb is used throughout except in one palm-muted section.

Tuning is C Standard (C-F-A#-D#-G-C)

I hope this helps.
