Black Hawk vs Impulse neck pickups
« on: March 17, 2018, 01:39:17 PM »
Can anyone give a comparison of these two?  Which is darker?  Which has more sustain?  What other characteristics differentiate them?  I like the idea that the Impulse is between a VHII and a Black Hawk, but what does that entail (in terms of sound characteristics)?
BLACK HAWKS
IMPULSES
COBRA-T
WAR PIGS
STOCKHOLM
COLD SWEATS
MIRACLE MAN
TRUE GRIT

Good question as there are just a few posts about these pickups. Not that I will buy any of the two.

Isn't sustain in the guitar and just translated by the pickup?
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I think this video by Nolly has sold me on the Black Hawk neck for my Schecter

I will just order the set with the alnico bridge magnet after seeing this other video by Nolly (I tune to C standard, which is only a half step higher than a 7 string):
