i replaced the dimarzio humbucker that came in this strat style axe i just got. i put just a stock pup i took out of a tokai in it, it doesn't work but ive made sure everything is soldered correctly and solidly.

does it need to be reverse polarity or something?

im confused. the problem is i cant afford BKps but the dimarzio is sooooooooo dull and muddy it just annoys me and i had to take action......and it hasn't worked

So long as the p/up works it should wire up fine-you shouldn't need to worry about polarity.Bare in mind though that Tokai and Dimarzio colour code is different.

yea cheers tim. the pup is broken, i had a look at it carefully(its uncovered) and there is some snapped pup wire just sorta sticking out of the side :(

it wasn't such a bad pup either. i must have done something weird toit some how to do that, after all the coils are covered with tape..... now to save for a H/s/s set :D
