...I know the obvious answer... another Warpig!

But I'm wondering about the cleans. I usually use my neck pickup for clean sounds and bluesy overdriven stuff. I know that the warpig would sound good doing that, but is there another pickup that would be even better?

Oh another thing aswell, I have a bad case of "unwanted singlecoil"...

I have a H/S/H configuration, and I never, ever use the singlecoil. The only thing it seems useful for is collecting a thin layer of green dust where my pick scr@pes against the pole pieces. Is removing it as simple as just taking it out? Or would I have to buy a three way selector switch or do any soldering?

You'll have to solder anyway to change pickups. It depends on your switch and what you want. If you have a slider switch, you could keep a 5 way and use it to give alternate combinations in the inbetween settings (like one coil from each p/u). If you put in a 3 way you can get both hb's in the middle posiion.

Taking out the pickup isn't a problem, you'll just be left with a hole in the guitar unless you put in a cover. There is another option, and that is to put in something like a trilogy or sinner and wire it with one coil of each hb so all the settings are hb. Tim has some great HSH combinations.

For a neck pickup, you could look at a Mule, or a Miracle Man with Alnico V - it is amazing how clean and bluesy the MM sounds with the V magnet.

I'm wondering how much the basswood body of my guitar will effect the sound of warpigs?

One other question:

This might sound incredibly stupid, but how do I know if I need the 4 or Braided 2 conducter, and how do I know whether I need 50mm or 52mm spacing? :oops:

(The guitar is an Ibanez RG1570L if that matters)

If you want the coil split option with that 5-way switch, you'll need the 4-conductor. Most trem equipped guitars have a 52mm spacing. Measure the distance between the centers of the outer pole pieces. However, if you choose the 52mm, you can't get that awesome cover. A 50mm covered Warpig will have no problems picking up the sound from the strings, even if it is supposed to be 52 mm.

My advice would be 50mm covered set with 4-conuctor wiring.

Thanks alot. I'll probably go with that, I don't mind sacrificing 2mm of pickup for the amazing covers :D

How much does it matter if I'm lefty? I'm assuming it doesnt, but just checking...

Won't matter at all with a humbucker if you're left or right handed. :)

Should sound great, the Warpigs never fail to turn any guitar into a monster. I've played semi solid Patrick Eggles, Basswood Washburns, and Mahogany guitars loaded with 'Pigs and they all sounded evil! :twisted:
