BK Brown Sugar pickup height
« on: January 03, 2019, 05:12:38 PM »
Hi there. I'm new using Bare Knuckle pickups and i can tell already that they sound much better than the stock tele pups.

Only thing is that the bridge pickup is louder then the neck pickup(have set them at equal height now). And i can't find any start inches for pickup height.

What is the best pickup height that you advise me for best tone with the pups?

I play classic/rock & blues.. clean and with OD. I have a Standard usa telecaster 2012 with a callaham bridge(brass saddles). CTS pots etc.

Regards.

General starting point is 3mm with the string pressed at the 12th fret, but I advice you to use your ears. Scatterwound pickups are sensitive for height. Every mm does something. I have my pickups set quite low.

what Telerocker said! just to add theres no rule that says both pickups have to be the same height either
