I have been debating about what pickups I should get for my stratocaster. I was going to get with the H/S/S setup but I decided that it would be cheaper right now for me to just go S/S/S. I was wondering if Irish Tours in the Neck and Middle and Sinner in the bridge would be a good combination?

what kind of stuff do you play? give us an idea of bands sounds and what you're playing ur strat thru etc. It'll make things easier and more useful.

I am somewhat all over the place because I play a lot of blues, but I also play harder stuff like if I had to compare maybe stuff more like muse "stockholme syndrome" so something that has good bass some midrange, and something that can kick. So I was going to either go with the Irish Tours and the Sinner, or the trilogy suites, and a Sinner.

Trust me a Sinner can kick. I find I can keep up with most humbuckers and play Ozzy stuff quite happily with mine.

I went for total versatility with my Strat and have some quite low powered Duncan Alnicos in the neck and middle for max quack then kick back to the Sinner and burn.

I've just got a Trilogy fitted on an Ibanez and it's a loud yet expressive pickup and sits well with my Warpig so would match the Sinner perfectly.

You'll find no shortage of fans for the Irish Tours here but as a left field thought maybe look at the Slowhands with a Trilogy/Sinner bridge?

thanx for the help. Never thought about putting three diffrent pickups in my strat. I am really curious as to see how that would sound. I think I am going to make my order tonight but I still I am not sure what I want exactly. Do a lot of guitar players put 3 diffrent pickups in a strat? I have a marshall avt50, not the most impressive amp but I think I can get a decent to good tone out of it and I am sure when I replace these stuff pickups it will sound loads better.

The Sinner in the bridge will be as hot as a humbucker, but it won't quite sound like a humbucker. It has a single coil sound, though not a typical single coil pickup sound--if that makes sense! :)

I have a Strat-style guitar with the neck and middle pickups very close to the BKP Mother's Milk pickups, as far as I can tell. The bridge is the Sinner pickup. With those pickups in there I can go from Hendrix sounds to heavy modern stuff. I can get all the gain I need from my amp.

For what you said you play, you'll be happy with the Irish Tours for neck and middle, IMO. The Sinner will give you all the kick you need, though it won't sound exactly like a humcker. So if you really want a humbucker in the bridge, you should buy one.

If you want to sound heavy and modern without the annoying noise of single coils at high gain, you need a humbucker for the bridge position.

Well I was going to go with a H/S/S setup, but with me being left handed it takes a lot for me cause I have to order a custom left hand H/S/S pickguard from fender, I have to order a new bridge, and then it's going to cost $80 get everything installed. But even though it's going to take a little bit longer and money I might just go back with the H/S/S setup. Maybe a Nailbomb with some Irish Tours?

Nailbomb would do the job nicely for your heavier sounds. Matt Bellamys had them fitted in some of his guitars 8)

Also, the irish tours are spose 2 b the gods of crunchy blues, very much like Mr Gallagher / Vaughan

I'm pretty set on getting a nailbomb in the bridge, I just heard some more clips on them and they sound $%&#ing amazing. The Irish Tours also sound great, I'm guessing they are more like Texas Specials. I need something with a nice warm clean sound, but when It comes to the lead I need something that is warm and with good bass and with a little midrange. I am also looking at the miracle man and the trilogy suites, but I wonder would that be too much for what i need. Any more suggestions would be great but I think I am going with NB/IT/IT

Sounds like your lookin for some Slowhands in the front and middle.

The miracle man is better suited to modern tones, where as the Nailbommb has a slightly old school metal sount. I suppose the miracle man might be a good choice for a stockholm syndrome sound...as its quite tight and bassy. The miracle men are great for this as they have lots of bass and lower midrange.
