I rather liked the idea and was very keen when I heard that George Lynch was using his own signature version
On the sound samples I did notice that keeping the power tubes the same and obviously the rest of the power section is identical it did kind of colour everything the same no matter what module you used
I dont know what function the ICs and transistors played in the circuit though - seems strange in a VALVE amp unless they perform a switching function and are not in the signal path
To be fair - most players tend to like a narrow-ish bandwidth of tones
even if they go from classic to to nu metal
However I am doing something similar myself having a rack full of different makes of valve preamps and a switching system.
