Pickups for Strat Mod...
« on: June 01, 2006, 07:13:11 PM »
Right, so i have a MIM Standard Strat, and it's not pushing my buttons atm...I've decided to give it the Rebel Yell and Slow Hand treatment (i think those pickups anyway...) but i'm having real difficulty deciding whether to go HSH or HSS...

I want the most versatility possible really, and don't know which setup would be better...

Bear in mind it would have coil splits for the Rebel Yells, and a phase switch for the bridge pickup, which is a bit of a boost...i'm leaning towards the HSH, with one of the positions wired for Bridge+Neck, but if anyone can offer advice i'd be very grateful  :)

Split the difference.

Hum Bridge
Single Middle
Mississipi Queen neck

Hits all the bases for me, plus it'll give such a good "frankenstrat" look.

 that's true, it would be cool - but i have no use for the mississippi queen, it's gonna have to be HSS or HSH...

If I was being arsey, I'd say it was HSS, but I'm not, so I see your point.
