Yet another thought (pedalboards)

Hey just a thought. As im contemplating expanding my range of pedals drastically, i was thinking of getting one of these somewhere down the line..

now, i know i can power all my pedals by daisy-chaining power cables from one power supply, but i want to keep my pedals all neat and together and safe, as my room is small + im clumsy + untidy in general + ive broken pedals before out of carelessness.

Anyway, my question is can i then daisy chain one of those 5 power cables so that the board can power more than 5 pedals? I was planning on getting around 7 pedals in total, so i was thinking if i could squeeze them in the box and daisy chain, it would be more economic than buying a bigger pedalboard altogether.

Oh and while im at it, i was thinking about a cheap EQ pedal for maybe that lil bit of tonal control for solo's, to perhaps boost mids and reduce some treble. Is a behringer EQ700 really a no go area? Im not overly keen on paying out around £50 for a boss that does the same thing. Then the only other i can think of is the MXR i think, which my guitar teach had.

Although I'm not sure, I think it depends how much power each socket bit gives out or something like that..

ah right... hmmm, anyone know where i can find this info? id hate to commit to a £100 pedalboard only to have to have some loose ones outside the board.

Anyway The EQ700 is not bad but noisey as all hell I'm gonna get the boss GE-7.

Definately get an EQ pedal though they are worth their wieght in gold

You can link daisy chains together, upto the maximum available output of the power supply.

Cheap EQs add alot of noise to your signal when boosting, and may not have enough headroom to work well in an effects loop.

Seriously, most times you need to tweak that EQ only a little bit to get a much better, fuller sound... The BOSS GE-7 is a great little pedal...extremely quiet, very effective and works a treat on honing that distortion. I switched it off a day ago and I couldn't believe I had lived without it. It's that good. I also strongly recommend the BBE Sonic Stomp. Very good little pedal. Inexpensive, effective and coupled with an EQ, definitley BALLS. It contours your low end chunk as well as really giving you a 'larger' sound. Click it off after setting it to your preference...you will be amazed. These units help shape tone in subtle but essential ways. In a nut shell, I swear by them, as you can tell.

ah right so for 7 or so 9v pedals id need a power supply a little over 35 volts?

I don't think it's noisy, but if you want you could get a noise reduction pedal- that would definitely tame an amp that has noise/hiss problems.

Yea i was thinking about some sort of noise gate or something anyway. lol so many pedals, they keep adding up. i count 7 pedals on my list of things to get.

OOOHHHHH  :?  um       theres some guys over at the bossarea forum that would argue that point.

I'm pretty sure there are differences. My mate has a GE-7 and it is quiet.

Stand on the Beigh.... and you might as well be playing through an old valve amp with cr@p valves.
