I wonder if any of you guys can help?
I want to upgrade the pots in my Tokai LP (Love Rock), and am a bit confused, as all the wiring diagrams I've seen indicate a cap between the tone and volume pot for each pick up.
In the Tokai, there is a cap, but it's connected to the middle lug on the tone pot, with the other leg soldered to the back of the pot?
anyone have any clues?

There are a few different ways to wire a tone control, they have done it one of the other ways.  It should sound pretty much the same

^ +1...I actually prefer the way tokai do it (usually) as it's easier to wire than trying to solder a capacitor to the pot shell - I'm always scared I'm gonna overheat it, even with a heat sink :lol:

The way you have it wired is the late 1950's way.

( See excellent article on website singlecoil.com re: converting your Les Paul back to 50's specifications ! ).

I changed my 1996 Les Paul from the modern cap between V & T controls wiring to your way , and prefer the result. Simpler but very effective with a very usable range.

IMHO Tokai did it right for you first time !
